The owner is Michael Pierpont moved from Santa Barbara California to Costa Rica in 1990. Michael entered the coffee business because he was not satisfied with the other local coffees he was selling in his gift store. "I knew there was better coffee available and 15 years ago I sold my Range Rover to buy our first hand made small batch roaster".
"Great coffee is my passion and I live to build this business through producing exceptional coffee products with personalized service that the big companies can't provide”.
Sun Burst is available throughout Costa Rica and you are welcome to come and visit us in the northern province of Gaunacaste. Visitors can buy fresh from our roaster and learn what it takes to produce world class coffees. We offer a free coffee tour for groups of 8 or more. In November 2006 we expanded our operations into the United States by opening our new roasting facility Austin Texas. Michael is importing the very best green coffees from Central America to roast and ship from Austin. “Now our U.S. customers can enjoy their Sun Burst Coffees that are roasted to order delivered fresh within a few days” which has been one of my most important goals.
